Juan Gabriel‘s epic album, Los Duo, has reigned supreme on charts all around the world these past few weeks. Ranking at #1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Album chart, and at #1 and #2 on Mexico’s Amprofan chart for four consecutive weeks. It’s even held a respectable #6 spot in Guatemala.
The album, which features classic Juan Gabriel style, is, in our opinion here at Latin é, one of the superstar’s best yet. And that’s not all. This music icon will be unveiling a mural of himself in El Paso, Texas this Saturday, March 28th. The nine-story mural is located on Juárez Avenue, where Juan Gabriel’s career was born over forty years ago. The Juan Gabriel mural is the first of eleven planned murals to be painted in Juárez, El Paso and Las Cruces to help attract tourism and spur economic development in the Paso del Norte region. It’s definitely a big moment for the star, who is also slated to give a free concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at “The X” monument on the Plaza de la Mexicanidad.
And in the meantime, we’re ready to celebrate a great latino artist getting the attention he deserves. Excuse us while we throw ourselves a Los Duo dance party.
Time for a fiesta!
