‘Knock Down the House:’ Documentary on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Netflix has released Knock Down the House trailer, a documentary following U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s race in 2018.

In this past election, not only were there a significant number of Democratic wins but also a number of wins from women. The documentary reveals the road the four progressive women, AOC, Amy Vilela, Cori Bush and Paula Jean Swearengin experienced during their race in the 2018 midterm elections.

Of the four women that will appear in the documentary, AOC was the only one to win her race against Democratic Representative Joe Crowley. This was a huge win for Ocasio-Cortez given that Crowley was in office ten years prior to the defeat.

“People say, ‘How dare you mount a challenge to someone who is so established?’…I’m running because every day Americans deserve to be represented by Americans,” AOC says in the documentary.

Netflix will release Knock Down the House May 1st. It initially caught attention when it premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival.
