Puerto Rican superstars, Alexis and Fido, took the award for “Best Urban Song” at the ASCAP Latin Music Awards. Their song, “Rompe La Cintura” is number one on the charts and the Billboard Latin Rhythm section of iTunes.
This urban duo was recognized this past weekend at the Manhattan Center in New York City, alongside La Fania, Daddy Yankee and other top artists.
This song is part of Alexis and Fido’s sixth studio album, and isn’t the first song to garner them success. In the past they’ve been nominated for two Latin Billboard Awards and a Latin Grammy. Their first two singles, “Rompe La Cinture” and “Alocate” have won major accolades and been major fan favorites in the urban genre. The pair was even award the Silver and Golden Seagull for their participation in the closing ceremony of the International Song Festival of Viña del Mar.
They are currently on a promotional tour for their new album, “La Esencia” which is in stores and online now.
