Mio Restaurant in DC is always looking for an excuse to throw a party, and this May they’ve found not one but TWO great reasons to celebrate!

First, on Friday, May 1st at 10:00 p.m. get ready with those jazz hands, because renowned jazz artist, Julia Vari, will be performing. This famed vocalist will sing songs from her third solo album, “an exquisite tribute in jazz to two of the most renowned composers in Mexican history: Armando Manzanero and Jose Alfredo Jimenez.” The night promises plenty of irresistible music to accompany a truly irresistible menu.

Then, from Monday, May 4th – Wednesday, May 6th, join Executive Chef Roberto Hernandez for a variety of MEXIRICAN specialities. Standouts include the 5 Chile Rabo with five chile oxtail, fresh crema, and queso fresco; Tacos al Pastor with slow stewed pork, grilled pineapple, white onion relish and fresh cilantro; 5 Salsas Tasting with tomato, tomatillo, chile ratatouille, árbol, sesame, ghost peppers, served with white corn tortilla chips; and the Sopa de Oaxaca con Huevo with asadero cheese, avocado, pasilla chile, tortilla and poached egg.
