The Billboard Latin Music Awards has announced their 2016 nominees.

Among the nominees is veteran Juan Gabriel who is nominated in eight categories including Artist of the Year. Gabriel, whose album Los Dúo was nominated for two categories including Top Latin Album of the Year, is set to release the third volume in the series later this year.

Other nominees include perennial favorites, Juanes, J. Balvin, Selena, and introducing new artists La Séptima Banda and Banda Clave Nueva de Max Peraza.

The biggest and most prestigious night for Latin music will take place live on Thursday, April 28 at 8 p.m. ET on Telemundo following the red carpet preshow, “La Alfombra de Premios Billboard.” Actors Pedro Fernandez and Gaby Espiro will emcee the night.

Aleida Fernandez

Aleida Fernandez is a recent graduate from Whitman College where she studied history and music.
