Entertainment just became a lot more entertaining. Eva Longoria’s network, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment has just announced that they’ll be releasing two new projects in the coming years, and boy do we have a scoop for you.
The George Lopez Show is about to have a run for it’s money. Last week UnbeliEVAble Entertainment sold NBC a comedy sitcom starring Erik Rivera, a stand-up comedian whose own wacky family and stand-up act are at the heart of the show. In a recent interview with Laughspin Rivera commented, “No matter where I am in the world, the chaos that is my family always seems to find me.” Longoria herself will be an executive producer, and at this time we know that Peter Murrieta, a comedy pro, will write the script. Rivera’s charm and straight-to-the-heart stand-up is sure to impress fans who’ve been hankering for something new in the world of Television, and long to return to the good old days when TV was a laugh riot every night.
In the network’s second big move of the month, they’ve announced a Lifetime drama, entitled Blackout, which will focus the family dynamics between the main character, a woman whose career has failed and is returning home after 10 years away, and her estranged siblings. While she tries to make amends she is forced to come to terms with her own demons after a the murder of a teenage girl. This drama promises to be every bit as juicy as similar shows, like the hit Revenge (whose writer will also be working on Blackout).
In the coming months it’s a good idea to keep your eyes and ears open for more news about these exciting prospects. As for Ms. Longoria, well, we know we can’t wait to see what she does next.
