At the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s (GWHCC) 38th Annual Gala last week, more than 500 leaders from local and federal government, nonprofits, corporations and businesses came together to honor the contributions of local Hispanic doctors in business
Honorees recognized included Dr. Fernando Pagan, the Medicinal Director of the National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence and Professor of Neurology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital; Dr. Hortencia M. Hornbeak, the Associate Director for Scientific Review and Policy at the National Institutes of Health and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; Dr. Clayton Lawrence, the Chairman of the Board and Founder of the LEAP Foundation; and Dr. Carlos Picone, an Associate at Chevy Chase Pulmonary Associates.
President and CEO of GWHCC, Angela Franco said, “We have seen firsthand the important role of doctors in our lives and their desire to enrich the health and wellbeing of our community. It was with great honor that we recognized their incredible work at this event.”
The Gala was a huge success – everyone came together to celebrate GWHCC’s accomplishments as a leading business organization, committed to helping more Hispanic-owned businesses move forward in their communities.
