Jody Joe isn’t made of flesh and bones. No, this artist, writer, and choreographer is all music all the time. Son of a Latin percussionist and a ballerina, Jody grew up listening to his father play the timables, alongside his native salsa music and a mix of Doo Wop, Soul, and R&B. These genres, as well as artists like Michael Jackson, Prince, and Marc Anthony, shaped the musician he is today.
Jody’s first break came when he moved to NYC to form the Pop group, Tough Love. The band had mild success, and opened plenty of doors to allow Jody Joe to come out as a solo artist during the 116th street P.R. festival in 2012. Despite the tremendous popularity he’s enjoyed as his own artist, Jody continues to be an active part of Tough Love, which keeps him busy.
His first single, Donde Estas, has just been released on iTunes, and it has a beat that’ll turn up the heat at any event. You’re going to want to play this at your next party, because this is the kind of music summer nights are made of.
