Latin Grammy Award-winning band La Arrolladora Banda El Limón has released a new single and it’s not hard to see why the band is so decorated. “Me Va A Pesar” comes straight off their forthcoming album, Libre Otra Vez and it’s exactly the kind of high caliber music we’ve come to expect from the group.
The Mexican banda group is one of longest running bands in Latin America. Formed in Limon in the state of Sinaloa, the 18 members have been performing together, in one incarnation or another, since the 1960s. In spite of this, however, the group didn’t release their first album until 1997 when they signed with Sony Music Latin and recorded their debut album Mas Arrolladora Que Nunca.
They’ve been on a role ever since, releasing nearly an album a year. They even managed to pick up a casual six Lo Nuestro nominations and three wins as well as a Latin Grammy “Best Banda” Award for their 2011 album, Todo Depende De Tí.
Will La Arrolladora Banda El Limón’s Libre Otra Vez generate the same kind of buzz as their previous albums? If “Me Va A Pesar” is any indication, all bets are on “yes.”
