Last week, Kansas City-based band, Making Movies, released a brand new music video for there track, Lo Que Quiero, which raises awareness about domestic violence.
The band has been busy shining a light on issues that hit very close to home for many immigrant communities in the U.S. Last week, they released the first of many digital shorts that they’ll be using to spread the word about friends and fans who are doing amazing things to help those struggling with domestic violence in their own homes, or the homes of their loved ones.
In this episode, vocalist and guitarist Enrique Chi interviews Celia Ruiz, a Kansas City activist with Una Lucha KC, who is heavily involved in bringing the families of the Ayotzinapa students who went missing in September 2014, to the United States, where they’ll travel in a group known as #Caravana43.
It’s always an exciting moment when a band collaborates with a non-profit to bring awareness to an issue they care deeply about, and this video series looks like it’s going to be the next big thing in raising awareness and funds for those who need help.
We’re excited to see where this series, and Making Movies, takes us next.
