Netflix Series Gente-fied to be Produced by America Ferrera
Actress, philanthropist and now producer, America Ferrera, has just been given a green light from Netflix for new series, Gente-fied.
Gente-fied is a dramatic comedy created by Mexican and Guatemalan-American filmmaker, Marvin Lemus alongside Yvette Chavez. It will be produced by Ferrera who will also appear in the series.
Charles D. King initially launched the series under his production company, Marco, as the first digital series. King is also producing the series with Ferrera, Kim Roth, Teri Weinberg and Aaliyah Williams.
Originally premiering in the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, Gente-fied centers around the lives of three Mexican-American cousins. The characters, living in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights, will discover identity, culture, and try to chase the American Dream. Netflix has set for ten, half-hour episodes.
Alicia Sixtos, whom you may know from East Los High, stars in the dramedy alongside Art Bonilla, Edsson Morales, Rafael Sigler, Sal Velez, Victoria Ortiz and Yareli Arizmendi.
