Fashion | 3 Summer Swimwear Trends to Try

Minimale Animale - Runway - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015

Memorial Day has long since passed, so I think it’s safe to say that we’re deep in the heart of summer! This is when we start thinking about trips to the beach, visits to the pool, or really any activities that involve the nearest body of water to cool us off. Planning a day (or weekend!) by the sea calls for the perfect swimsuit to enjoy the sun, a swim and overall summer goodness. This will have you dusting off your favorite swimsuit and most likely thinking about getting yourself a new one for a more fashionable summer 2015. If that’s the case, I bring you three fun swimwear trends you should have in mind when treating yourself to your 2015 fabulous swimsuit.

High-Waisted Bottoms

We have been embracing higher waistlines for a while now and even though it might sound a not-so-sexy vision in you mind, it is actually a very modern and flattering look! A high waisted bottom will accentuate your waist and keep your tummy in check. Plus they come with all sorts of fun and sexy details like cut-outs, mesh panels and 3D embellishments. I say look for one that speaks to you and try this pin-up girl trend this summer.

Sheer Panels

Like I mentioned in the above trend, mesh panels are a fun addition to your swimwear this season, as well as all the rage right now. I love that it adds interest and a dash of sexiness to the simplest of bathing suits as you show extra skin without actually uncovering it. No matter if you go for a one-piece or a two-piece, this is definitely a trend that even the most minimalistic fashionista should try.

High-Neck Crop Tops

Blame that blast to the 90s past, but two-piece swimsuits with a top that looks more like a crop top than a bra are ‘oh-so-in’. Try one with a fun saying or quote in bright letters, or covered in an extra vibrant print. The one thing I love about this trend? It doubles as a top you won’t feel weird wearing to the bar come happy hour. Add a pair of denim shorts or cute skirt, and get ready to enjoy your Mojito at your favorite beach bar.
