Enrique Iglesias

Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler is a Spanish singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. Born in Spain on May 8, 1975, Enrique is the son of popular Spanish singer Julio Iglesias. His mother Isabel Preysler is a Spanish-Filipino socialite. Enrique moved to the U.S. when he was eight years old. At the age of fifteen, he secretly began writing a song. Enrique dropped out of college to pursue a musical career. In September 1995, he released his first album at 18 years of age. Enrique released his second Spanish album on January 29, 1997. In 1999, he made a career breakthrough with the Bailamos (We Dance). The song became a number one hit on the U.S. charts and featured in the popular film Wild Wild West.

Three years later, Enrique met with even greater success, when he released his first all-English record. Furthermore, when Enrique’s career hit its peak of success, he released his most successful album to date Escape (2001). Enrique co-wrote the album, which includes the popular songs Escape, Maybe, Don’t Turn Off, The Lights, and Hero.  Following Escape’s success, he went on to release several other recordings, including the 2003 album 7. Also, the 2007’s Insomniac, including the popular song Push, and 2010’s Euphoria his first bilingual album, featuring Spanish and English songs.  His latest studio album Sex and Love was also bilingual. Enrique sold over 137 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling Latin artists ever. He has more number-one songs on Billboard’s charts, more than any other single male artist.
