Lil Pump

Lil Pump (Gazzy Garcia) is an American rapper and songwriter, born in Miami, Florida on August 17, 2000. He is of Hispanic descent with Cuban and Mexican ancestry on his father’s and mother’s side. His parents get divorced when he was six years old. His mother moved to Miami after giving birth to his older half-brother. Lil grew up in a troublesome neighborhood. Although he was academically good, he was more interested in rap music but never imagined he would make a career in the industry. He usually listened to Chief Keef. When he was thirteen years old, his cousin, Lil Ominous, introduced him to Omar Pineiro, also known as Smokepurpp. Lil and Smokepurpp expelled from multiple district schools. Moreover, he attended an opportunity high school but dropped out in the tenth grade for fighting and inciting a riot. Lil is commonly seen in social media engaging in unwise behavior.

Lil Pump’s rap career began when Smokepurpp produced a track and asked him to freestyle over it. In 2016, Lil released his debut single Lil Pump in SoundCloud. Lil Pump followed the song with singles Elementary, Ignorant, Gang Shit, and Drum$tick.  The success of his tracks on SoundCloud earned him recognition among the South Florida underground rap scene. He co-headlined the No Jumper tour in 2016, and also performed at the Rolling Loud Festival. The early success led Lil and his friend to produce several more songs. Soon, they became internet sensations. He released the single Gucci Gang in 2017 as well as D Rose and Boss. Gucci Gang became his first mainstream commercial success. Later that year, Lil released his self-titled album and was a major success. Besides, he released his second studio album Harverd Dropout on February 22, 2019.
