Cesar Chavez is the story about Mexican American labor leader César Chávez and his effort to organize the migrant farm workers in California. This biopic film is directed by Mexican director Diago Luna starring Michael Peña as Casar Chavez. Also starring America Ferrera, Rosario Dawson and John Malkovich as the owner of a large grape farm who leads the opposition again Chavez.
Casar Chavez first premiered in the Berlin International Film Festival and is distributed by Pantelion Films, the first major Latino Hollywood film studio. Pantelion films has also had U.S. distribution rights to Will Ferrell’s film, Casa de Mi Padre.
