I know its been a couple of weeks, but Jessica Alba’s look at the Golden Globes red carpet was without a doubt one of my favorites. The silhouette of the dress, the color, the necklace and the bold lipstick all worked. She looked fun and pretty, yet still very glamorous. For most of us, we are most likely nowhere near walking a red carpet however, we may have some sort of event coming up… maybe a birthday? wedding? graduation? No matter the event, heres some inspiration from this red carpet ensemble and fashion tips.
Today, I’ll show you how to copy Jessica Alba’s look outside of a red carpet. The first tip? Think short. In everyday events you will never go wrong wearing a pretty cocktail dress. If you are going for a strapless piece, make sure to have the right bra for support and consider tailoring the dress so it fits perfectly with your body and curves. The necklace here works because it’s big enough to catch your eye, but simple enough to not compete with the beautiful gown. Always pair a big necklace with small earrings. The clutch is definitely not my favorite. I would go for something less reminiscent of a shaggy rug like a sleek, envelope clutch in a neutral tone. On the flip side, the best accessory here is that bright orange lipstick. The combo of a coral dress and orange lips? So beach-y chic! Bonus points if you have wavy, golden locks like Jessica.
