Domino Saints
Domino Saints is a Puerto Rican urban pop duo based in Miami, Florida and formed in 2012. The band Domino Saints currently consists of lead vocalists Gigi Ojeda and David Leal. Furthermore, the group gained a sizable following after the release of the music video for their single “Malas Mañas” in August 2012.[2]
Their concept began in Boston, Massachusetts. Gigi and David studied music at Berklee College. Domino Saints member, Gigi studied composition and David studied drums and percussion. There, away from their homeland, in a city with a cold weather and a scarcity of Latin presence, the idea was born from their passion for music and nostalgia for their culture and the Caribbean.
For them, studying music was fundamental not just for their personal development but also to apply the concept they started. Gigi was used to playing jazz, bossa nova and blues. And David applied his knowledge on drums and percussion for bands that played from punk and alternative to reggae music.
Then they followed up with their next single, “Exclusivo”, which was released on May 29, 2013. In addition, following their split with Capitol Latin, they released their latest single, “Ya Quiero” on July 8, 2016, with Rebel Eleven.[1] Then on February 10, 2017, Domino Saints released their song “Las Ganas” [3] followed by “Ponte Sexy” on February 24, 2017. [4]. Also, released their latest single “Mi Orgullo” on May 19, 2017.
