J. Lo and Cardi B Star in Upcoming Film: ‘Hustlers’
It has been confirmed that Cardi B, Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles, and Lili Reinhart will be joining Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu in Hustlers.
The upcoming film centers around the true-life tales of a crew of former strippers who join forces to outsmart their Wall Street clients. It is inspired by a New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler, entitled Hustlers at Scores.
With a dynamic cast of women such as this one, it would only make sense that the film is set to be written and directed by Lorene Scafaria. You may recognize Scafaria from her works such as Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World or The Meddler.
Cardi B, who ironically, is a former stripper herself, will be making her film debut with the role. On the other hand, Jennifer Lopez is set to play the ring leader of the vigorous group of women and takes their plans to the next level.
“The film is an empathetic look at women and men, our gender roles, what we’re valued for, what we’ve been told is our value in every movie, TV show and every corner of culture…” Scafaria shared regarding the film.
Although a release date hasn’t been set yet, production for the film will begin March 22 in New York City.
