‘HP’ is the LETNetworks Song of The Week

‘HP’ is the LETNetworks Song of The Week

Maybe you’ve heard of Maluma, the Colombian reggaeton singer and songwriter who’s been lighting up the charts recently. Several of his songs have charted within the top 10 on Billboard Hot Latin Songs, including “Felices los 4”, “Borró Cassette”, “El Perdedor”, and “Corazón.” He’s also won a Latin Grammy Award and two Latin American Music Awards. And as of today, his single, “HP” is LETNetworks’ newest “Song of the Week.”

Described as “colorful” by the artist himself, “HP” marks a new chapter in the singer’s discography. “HP” is the first single to kick off his new album, 11:11, serving as the lead single. The song is fun, and the hook is catchy enough to get you off your feet and onto the dance floor. The song also has a deeper meaning behind it, warning men that they need to treat women better or they’ll lose them. The accompanying music video, which amassed nearly 4 million views in the first 20 hours after its release, depicts this message as its female lead chooses to leave with Maluma instead of her aggressive, rude boyfriend.

“Colorful” is certainly an apt descriptor for the all-Spanish song. The music video is an explosion of bright pastels, drawing the watcher’s eye immediately. Lights and neon colors decorate the screen, aptly portraying the excitement of the club scene. It’s no wonder he’s always seen accompanied by a group of friends. “HP” isn’t just fun to listen to, it’s fun to watch. And watch we will, over and over again.

If this is the start his new album is off to, we can’t wait to see the rest. Maluma has also teased the possibility of a collaboration with Madonna. We’ll admit it, we’re intrigued!

Are you loving this song as much as we are? Let us know in the comments below!
