Things are really heating up for Joey Montana. The Panamanian reggaeton singer picked up a nomination for “Best Artist-Northern Region” at the second annual HTV Heat Latin Music Awards, airing this June in the Dominican Republic.
The nomination comes on the heels of his very successful music video for “Picky,” which has garnered almost 200 million views on YouTube since its release last June. Riding the wave of its success, Montana traveled to Los Angeles to film “Picky Remix” featuring well-known artists, Akon and Mohombi. Anticipation surrounding the release of the remix is high.
Montana has had a lucrative career since leaving the trio La Factoria to go solo. His romantic style helped catapult his second solo album, 2010’s Flow con Clase, to No. 6 on the U.S. Latin Rhythm Charts. Five years later, “Picky” locked in at No. 12 on the U.S. Latin Pop Chart.
With the quickening momentum of his career, Montana can afford to be a little pickier in the future.
