You may not recognize him by name, but chances are you’ve heard the influence of MLKMN. Two years ago the rapper and producer signed with Universal Music Latin Entertainment and began making beats for a wide range of artists from Colombian artist Juanes to Mexico’s pop group RBD to British hip-hop artist, M.I.A.
Now, MLKMN (pronounced Milkman) is turning the microphone on himself. His latest single, “Who Cares” doesn’t disappoint. With a jazz-infused beat, “Who Cares” is an ode to simply listening to yourself. Ignore the haters, it’s your goals that matter.
So far that strategy seems to be working for the Houston-raised bi-cultural artist. In his relatively short career, MLKMN has opened for renowned artists such as Kanye West, Joey Bada$$ and 2 Chainz. In 2015, Spotify, VEVO, and Latina Magazine named the rapper an artist to watch and VIBE Magazine listed him as one of the best Latin SnapChat accounts.
Despite his anthem for tuning out the masses, it is becoming abundantly clear that it’s time for MLKMN to start listening. He’s going to like what he hears.
