She gained major popularity after winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her first feature film role ever on 12 Years a Slave. This made her the first Mexican and Kenyan actress to win an Academy Award. Not only did she caught the eye of the Academy, but of every fashionista on the planet with her beautiful selection of dresses for the red carpet.
