If you didn’t know, famous actress and one of the stars in the much anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens movie, Lupita Nyong’o, is half Mexican and born in Mexico City. She gained major popularity after winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her first feature film role ever on 12 Years a Slave. This made her the first Mexican and Kenyan actress to win an Academy Award. Not only did she caught the eye of the Academy, but of every fashionista on the planet with her beautiful selection of dresses for the red carpet.

In honor of Star Wars finally hitting theaters TODAY and our deep appreciation for Latino talent and fabulous style, here we bring you some of Lupita’s most amazing 2015 red carpet moments. Take note from this stylish lady to find inspiration for your very own grand entrances this holiday season.

In early January she Lupita Nyong’o reigned at the Golden Globes awards in Giambattista Valli purple with floral detailing dress.

 

Come late January, she was bringing the drama in a floral and stripes printed dress by Elie Saab at the SAG awards.

By Oscar season she was again dazzling the cameras in a white, pearl adorned Calvin Klein dress.

Spring time at the Cannes Film Festival had her smiling at twirling in a magnificent green Gucci dress.

And, most recently, she walked the red carpet for the premiere of her latest film, you guessed it, Star Wars: Episode VII, in a sparkly and futuristic Chloe frock.
