José Feliciano is a Puerto Rican guitarist, singer and composer born on September 10, 1945. He was left permanently blind at birth because of congenital glaucoma. His love for music started at the tender age of three when he would play a tin cracker can alongside his uncle, who would play the Cuatro. At the age of 17 he quit school to play in clubs, and got his first professional, contracted performance in Detroit. He received widespread popularity in the 1960s after his fourth album, “Feliciano!”, was released in 1968 and hit number 2 on the charts. “Feliz Navidad” was his 9th album.
