Daniel Hernandez is also known as 6ix9ine or Tekashi69 is an American rapper and songwriter.  He was born on May 8, 1996, in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York, US. His mother is a Mexican while his father was a Puerto Rican. 6ix9ine grew up speaking Spanish. His parents raised him and his older brother until he was thirteen years old. 6ix9ine hospitalized for depression and post-traumatic stress disorder after his father murdered in 2009. He also suffers from asthma. 6ix9ine started to act out and immediately expelled from school in the 8th grade for bad behavior. He started working at various jobs to help his mother financially rather than continuing his education. 6ix9ine also dealt drugs to supplement his income, particularly selling cannabis as well as heroin on the streets.  He immediately arrested for his criminal activities and sentenced to prison time at Rikers Island.

6ix9ine began his career as a rapper in 2014, releasing songs such as 69 and Scumlife. His aggressive rapping style draws public attention. Also, he used anime in a music video, which made his videos unique. Many of his songs released by FCK THEM, a music label based in Slovakia. 6ix9ine became known in late 2017, after releasing his debut single Gummo. The song reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, besides; it was certified platinum by the RIAA. His next single, Kooda, debuted at number 61 on the hot 100 the week of December 23, 2017. On January 14, 2018, 6ix9ine released his third single, Keke, with Fetty Wap and A Boogie wit da Hoodie, which also charted on the Hot 100. Moreover, Hernandez announced his debut mixtape, titled Day69. The mixtape released on February 23, 2018, and debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

In April 2018, 6ix9ine released Gotti, a remix of a feature he did for artist Packman titled Got it, Got it. The official video of the song released on April 16, 2018. Also, the song debuted at number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it his sixth consecutive Hot 100 entry. In July 2018, 6ix9ine released his eighth single, Fefe, featuring Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz. The single debuted at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 before peaking at number three in its second week. Fefe was later certified double platinum by RIAA. His subsequent singles, Bebe and Stoopid, also reached the top 30 of the Hot 100. On November 2018, he announced to release his album on November 23, but on November 21, it was announced that the album would be postponed. The album released without notice on November 27, on all streaming services.
