Felix Ortiz and Gabriel Pizarro, a.k.a. Zion & Lennox have just been nominated thrice in Premios Juventud. The youth oriented awards show will air on July 6, 2017. In its 14th year, Premios Juventud has so far granted nominations to Zion & Lennox under three categories.
Specifically, the reggaeton twosome’s 2016 hit single “Otra Vez” gets nominated in the “Perfect Combination” and “Best Song to Chillin” categories. On the other hand, their collaboration with Enrique Iglesias in their recent single “Subeme La Radio” gets nominated as “Best Song to Sing”.
Also known as Los Diamantes Negros, the duo has enjoyed huge success in the international music arena. Namely, their super hit single “Otra Vez” was recently awarded the Triple Platinum Disc recognition. The music reaped record breaking sales and considered as one of the most successful songs of 2016 and 2017. Subsequently, their newest promotional single “My Treasure” has already achieved a gold disc status in a short span of time.
Zion & Lennox Personal Background
The real names of Zion & Lennox are Felix Ortiz and Gabriel Pizarro respectively. Both Felix and Gabriel shared the same interest in music. The two kickstarted their reggaeton duo career in the underground scene way back in 2000. The team was given its big break in 2003 through the compilation album “Desafio”. The said album consists of 25 tracks from different artists. The pair’s entry in the album was “Baila Conmigo” which was produced Luny Tunes and Noriega.
Both Felix and Gabriel has the blood of an artist flowing through their veins. Felix is the first degree cousin of Jory Boy (Nova and Jory). On the other hand, Gabriel is the brother of Luis Pizarro who also happens to be a former member of the “Yaga y Mackie” twosome.
