Wisin & Yandel

Wisin & Yandel is a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo. Consisting of Wisin (Juan Luis Morera Luna) and Yandel (Llandel Veguilla Malavé). The duo released ten studio albums, three live albums, and four compilation albums. Also, 32 singles and 47 music videos. The duo met each other in school. They began performing as a duo in the late ’90s. Their first debut album “Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio” debuted in 2000. From that moment the duo started a successful career. Then in 2001, they released their second album “De Nuevos a Viejos”. It peaked at #12 on the Latin Pop chart and #26 on Top Latin Albums chart. Both of them received the Tu Música Award for Best Rap/Reggaeton Duo in 2002. Then in 2003, they released their third album “Mi Vida… My Life” peaked at #19 on the Latin Pop chart.

Furthermore, in 2004, they released “De Otra Manera” as their fourth album. Also, in 2005 they released “Pa’l Mundo”. It is their first commercially successful album that sold 3,000,000 albums worldwide. In 2007, they released “Los Extraterrestres” it has been certified 3x Platinum by RIAA Latino. The album is well received the Puerto Rican media and peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Album. In 2009, They released their seventh album “La Revolución” featuring the rapper 50 Cent. Like their last album, it also peaked at #1 on Billboard. They won the Latin American MTV Award for “Artist of the Year” and “Video of the Year”. Then in 2011, the duo released Los Vaqueros:El Regreso. It’s their eighth studio album and it also peaked at #1 on several charts. In 2012, They released their album “Líderes” it is a mixture of Latin pop, dance-pop, hip-hop, and reggaeton.

Moreover, they went on hiatus and decided to release solo albums. Yandel released “De Lider a Leyenda” in 2013. Also, Wisin’s “El Regreso del Sobreviviente” was released in 2014. Later, Yandel announced that “Wisin & Yandel is a registered trademark, we always work together — We are now providing separate projects, we’ll soon be together again”. The two have made collaborations for each other in a couple of songs. Then in 2018, the duo announced their reunion from their hiatus. On November 30, 2018, their concert at José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in Puerto Rico sold out quickly and resulted in the addition of more shows. They ended up having 8 back to back shows at this venue. In October 2018, they released “Reggaetón En Lo Oscuro” as their lead single for their upcoming album. Finally, on December 14, they released their tenth studio Album “Los Campeones del Pueblo”.
