Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria is an American actress, producer, director, activist, and businesswoman. She was born on March 15, 1975, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the youngest of four daughters. Eva grew up on a ranch in Corpus Christi and attended Texas A&M, Kingsville, earning her bachelor’s degree. Eva’s opportunity came to compete in a talent show in Los Angeles after winning the beauty pageant in Corpus Christi. She won in the talent show in Los Angeles and stayed in California to pursue an acting career. Eva’s first appearance on TV is in the year 2000, having a tiny part on Beverly Hills 90210 and General Hospital. Also, Eva joined the cast of the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, of the following year. She played as Isabella in the soap opera, a mentally unstable character.

Eva earned an American Latino Media Arts Award for outstanding actress in daytime drama in 2002. In addition, she landed a juicy role on a new series of Desperate Housewives two years later. She became well known worldwide when she played the main character of Desperate Housewives, Gabrielle Solis. After her debut on Desperate Housewives, Eva starred in a direct-to-video film titled Carlita’s Secret, for which she’s also a co-producer. Eva won Choice TV Breakout Performance, Female, at the Teen Choice Awards. Also, the cast won the SAG in 2006, and Eva took home the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in TV series. She’s also one of People’s 50 Most Beautiful in 2005 and number one on Maxim’s annual hot 100 lists.

Eva’s popularity from Desperate Housewives led her to have a movie role as well. She appeared in Harsh Times, The Sentinel, and The Heartbreak Kid. She became the national spokesperson for Padres Contra el Cancer, a nonprofit organization that helps Latino children with cancer and their families. Also, she founded Heroes, an organization that offers enrichment opportunities for young people. Additionally, Eva named as the international face of L’Oréal Paris, a spokesperson for Pepsi and the face of Bebe Sport. Eva served as one of the executive producers of Devious Maids and directed the season two premiere, An Ideal Husband. In 2016, she also starred in the fourth season, in the episode Once More Unto the Bleach. She is also an executive producer of the documentaries The Harvest and Food Chains, for which she won a James Beard Foundation Award.
