Sebastián Yatra (Sebastián Obando Giraldo) is a Colombian singer and songwriter. He was born on October 15, 1994, in Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia. At the age of 5, they moved to Miami, Florida. He studied piano, guitar and vocal technique, and an avid footballer before deciding to concentrate on music. He started writing songs early and in September 2013, his first hit single El psicólogo charted in his home country Colombia, and all over Latin America in Venezuela, Mexico, Ecuador, and the United States. Sebastián was declared revelation of the year in Colombia.
El Psicólogo is a pop ballad and reggae influences were recorded in the United States. Produced by famous Latin producers Yhvonny Atella and Ender Thomas. Sebastián toured with Paty Cantú in her Drama Queen Tour. His follow-up single Todo Lo Que Siento was mildly successful, but the ensuing Para olvidar became a big hit in Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and in the States.
Moreover, 2015 is a successful year for Sebastián. His two singles, No me llames featuring Alkilados and Como Mirarte, a collaboration featuring Kenai and Kevin ADG, Chan El Genio and Dandee. But it was Sebastián’s 2016 Traicionera a huge Reggaeton and Trap EDM that made him even more famous as a favorite international artist in Latin America, in the Latin market in the States also charting in Spain and finding success all over Europe. The single was classified double platinum in Colombia and platinum in Ecuador. Sebastián has achieved a staggering 23 platinum singles and 2 gold singles.
