‘Someone Great’ is the LETNetworks Movie of the Week
Gina Rodgriguez does it again.
Golden Globe Winning Latin Actress Gina Rodriguez is really on roll. After becoming one of the most well-known actresses after 4 seasons and counting of the hit series Jane the Virgin, Rodriguez moved onto the big screen. Early 2019, she starred in the action-thriller movie Miss Bala (2019) as Gloria Fuentes, a make-up artist forced into a drug-cartel mission. And now, we’re excited to see Rodriguez again in the new Netflix Romantic-Comedy Someone Great, which just released earlier this April.
In “Someone Great”, Gina Rodriguez plays Jenny, who is heartbroken after being dumped by her boyfriend of 8 years. Although she is sadder and more emotional than ever, she is determined to spend her last week in New York with 2 of her best girlfriends before moving to San Francisco. Throughout the week, they encounter unpredictable fun and trouble, and a lot of unique memories are made, as Jenny (Rodriguez) tries to get over her ex.
Gina Rodriguez absolutely wows audiences, as fans are loving her new persona, who isn’t scared to have some fun, throw around some cuss words, and even smoke a joint if it’s passed to her. As always, she does a great job acting out the role, and makes viewers laugh and cry with her.
After her movie Miss Bala (2019) became famous for having a 95% Latino/Latina cast and crew, she’s continued to display her heritage in Someone Great.Rodriguez uses Spanish to convey her emotions on multiple occasions in the movie, and was even spotted wearing a t-shirt that read “Latina AF”. So, not only does Rodriguez continue to woo crowds with her amazing performances, she is also always proud to represent her Latina heritage.
